Jennie joined EMI Music in 1990 and has been involved on and off with intellectual property matters ever since. She particularly enjoyed her role defending Nipper the Dog and the “His Masters Voice” trade mark. The music business always calls their legal guys “business affairs” rather than legal. This reflects their role managing the legal affairs of an IP business, with a firm eye on the business drivers of their work. We share the view that IP should always be dealt with firmly anchored in a practical business context.
